  • Monday 24 January 2022 Reading books Could we please ask you to have a really good check at home for any of the home Book Bag Books that your children have been bringing home since September. We are finding that we have lots of books that have not been brought back. As you know the home reading books are matched exactly to what your child is reading in their RWI sessions in school. If your child has not brought their book back to school it means that another child cannot have the book they need. Thank you so much for your support with this.

On our travels we sketched and mapped out where it had been and thought of ideas it had got up to. In maths we continued to look at how 3, 4 and 5 are made. We played games which has helped us begin to learn off by heart, the parts that make the whole. • Friday 14 January 2022 RWI, PE and Maths This week in maths we have been looking at the composition of 5. This has been completed in a variety of ways including a bean bag target game. The children even had a go at recording their scores. On Friday we have our PE session. The children found the moving around the hall very challenging when asked to make sure that their opposite arm and leg moved forward at the same time! We had a number of children without PE kits this week. Please send them in as soon as possible. Our RWI sessions continue each day. Many children are now starting to bring home either books or 'ditty sheets'. These books and sheets cover the sounds they have been taught. It is really important that all the children know the 25 single letter 'Set 1' sounds, at speed and be able to write them down. Details of parent workshops will be coming soon which will be led by our RWI lead. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do ask.
