Friday 27th June

What a lovely week we’ve had! It’s been a joy to see the children growing in confidence during their swimming sessions – they are becoming more independent and enthusiastic each time.

In Drawing Club, we’ve explored a new set of star words: perfect, demolished, frosty, piping hot, cramped, uneven, slumber, and guzzle. The children have loved using these exciting words in their written work and imaginative play.  We’re  beginning to see a fantastic development in vocabulary. Many children are starting to make links between our current and previous star words and are using them more confidently in their writing.

In Maths, we’ve been exploring mass. The children have enjoyed using balance scales to compare different objects through direct comparison. We’ve also introduced both non-standard and standard units of measure, helping the children build a deeper understanding of weight and how to measure it.

In Computing, we’ve had great fun using the ChatterKids app! The children took photos of toy animals and then recorded their own voices to make the animals talk – it was a fantastic way to combine creativity with technology and really brought the characters to life.

Our Music sessions have been full of rhythm and movement as we created our own music using body percussion. The children loved experimenting with different sounds they could make using just their bodies!

In PE, we tried something new – curling! It was a great opportunity for the children to practise teamwork, coordination, and aiming skills in a fun and different way.

Another wonderful week of learning, creativity, and discovery – well done, everyone!
