  • Friday 13 September 2024 Friday 13th September 2024 We had a fabulous week in Kangaroo class this week! I am so impressed with how well the children are doing. There are some lovely friendships blossoming and the children are kind and respectful to each other. This week our focus was on feelings so we read the colour monster to help us understand how colours can link to our emotions. The children enjoyed learning about the different colour monsters and we saw lots of beautiful artwork inspired by the story. The children have created different representations of feelings when playing in the environment. The pineapple faces game was very popular and the emotion rollers in the playdough were well utilised this week. The children have all had a go at drawing a colour monster and talking about what makes them feel a certain colour. As well as learning about feelings we have been learning about the school community so on Friday we went on a tour of the school. The last stop was the adventure playground which the children enjoyed exploring. Pl

The children enjoyed listening to the story and talking about the different ways they might stop the seagulls from pinching Mr Grinling's lunch. We were surprised to discover that mustard sandwiches would keep them away. We thought it would be a good idea to make sandwiches so at the beginning of the week we wrote instructions and at the end of the week we followed these to make a sandwich.
