Westbury Infant School and Resource Base

Friday 3rd October

This week we have focused on our bodies and keeping healthy.— We enjoyed reading Funny Bones and talking about what we would do if we were skeletons and we have had lots of fun creating skeletons using bone biscuits and cotton buds.

In our Creative lesson, we have continued to explore colour. We sang the song 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear what can you see?' and talked about the colours of things and if they were the true colour. The children then explored creating paintings and talking about the colours they were using.

In Maths, we have been looking at size and mass. We have been using the words bigger/smaller, taller/shorter and heavier/lighter to compare. We even made ourselves into human scales to show heavier and lighter.

We have squiggled and wriggled to Hansen MMMbop this week, making hump shapes in the air with our flappers and on paper with crayons.

In our RWI sessions we have introduced another 5 sounds (c,k,u,b,f)– The children are continuing-+- to read the sound, write it and use their Fred Talk. We have added the links for this weeks letter below if you would like to help support your child at home.

And finally we had a super Discoathon day today. Lots of dancing was done in class and we had a mini disco in the hall with all the other Reception children. There were lots of smiling faces and sweaty faces at the end! Thank you for all your support and fundraising.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy looking through the pictures of the past week.
