What a great week! 20/09/24

Another wonderful week for the wonderful Wallabies! They continue to blow us away with their superb behaviour, amazing listening and their growing independence! The children are coming in and finding their own pegs as well as selecting their lunches. They are fully embracing the rules and routines and are showing great willingness towards their learning. It has been another great week in phonics with the children beginning to practice their letter formation. This week children have been writing m, a, s, d and t in their new writing books. They have done brilliantly! And in maths this week children have been matching and sorting objects. Children particularly enjoyed taking their learning into the sensory garden where they found and sorted natural objects. They also went on a colour hunt using a colour chart to see what they could find in their natural environment.

Children have enjoyed listening to stories about families as well as thinking about their own families. They made their own house frames out of lollipop sticks with a drawing of their families inside. Children have been super busy around the classroom, enjoying building different structures in the construction area, making recipes in the home corner, working on their fine motor activities with pom poms, tweezers, beads and string. They have created Mr potato heads with different facial expressions; linking to our work on emotions and so much more!

Well done for another amazing week Wallabies!
