What a busy week!

We have had another fantastic week in Giraffe Class. The children are in an excellent routine and they are more establish with the expectations of the class.

During our English lessons we have carried on reading the book ‘Can I build another me?’. We have talked and written about the things the different parts of our body can do. Then we had a think about the things that we like and dislike. We had to use our senses of touch and smell to describe the different things we were given. Some were disgusting!!!!

During our maths sessions we have continued looking at ‘teen’ numbers and finding one more and one less. We represented a lot of this through pictures and using apparatus. During our Mastering Number sessions, the children have been looking at the composition of the number 5 and how this can be made.

We have continued looking at Augusta Savage in our art lessons. This we were experimenting with manipulating play dough. We couldn’t use clay as this would dry out. Next week we will be making our real sculptures in preparation for our visit to the Holburne Museum.

During PE we have continued with our ball skills and enjoyed being outside working as part of a team with our friends.

Next week Miss Chalke, a Bath Spa student till be joining Giraffe Class until February. She is part of their teacher training programme and really looking forward to working with the children.
