Triptastic!

This week has been all about the trip! The children were so excited. It was our first trip in Giraffe class and it didn’t disappoint. We had the most fantastic day at Westonbirt Arboretum. The children were looking at the different leaves, they created food chains and then had to collect worms to feed their babies! It was very busy! Then came the best part, we went on a bug hunt. There isn’t too much more to write as the pictures will speak for themselves. Obviously, lunch was a huge hit as well and by this point much needed.

As part of the maths learning the Year 1 children have been looking at part-whole models and identifying the different parts and how they join together to make a whole. They Year 2 children have been making different fact families using addition and subtraction calculations.

In our art lessons we have been looking at different sculptures. We had a go at making our own using playdough, straws and pompoms! We will be moving on to make a class sculpture from leaves.

Next week we will be going to church for our harvest service on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Watts will be in class on Thursday and Friday covering Mrs Russam’s PPA time.
