Our 5 Senses

We have had another fantastic week in Wallaby Class.  This week, we have been learning all about our 5 Senses.  The children have enjoyed different smell pots and have been amazing at working out the different smells. We had coffee, lavender, curry powder and cumin seeds hidden inside pots.  We have also had different objects hidden in a tray for the children to guess.  This was great fun and again Wallaby class were experts!

In Literacy this week, we have been enjoying Squiggle Whilst you Wiggle and have learnt how to dance in circles with flappers before transferring this skills to paper.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQaxU7VrnY8 Why not have a go at home?

In Maths, we have been busy sorting and comparing amounts using words such as ‘more than’ and ‘fewer than’. The children then had to create their own towers using unifix cubes and these had to have more, fewer or the same amount of cubes.

The children have been working really hard with their sounds.  This week we have learnt ‘I,n,p,g and o’.  Why not check out our RWI blog on the school website to watch videos of the sounds that we practiced this week.  https://www.westbury-inf.wilts.sch.uk/News/Friday-27th-September-2024/
