Friday 17th May

We started our week looking at how germs can be spread and why it is so important to wash your hands after going to the toilet and before eating or preparing food.  We used glitter to see how easily germs can be spread and then practised washing our hands thoroughly in order to get rid of the germs.

In our DT lessons, we have designed and sewn our hand puppets.  Some of us found the running stitch a little tricky but we were resilient and kept on going until it was finished.  Next week we will add all of the features such as eyes, a nose and a mouth.

In maths, we have been learning about time.  We have ordered the days of the week and months of the year and some of us have also used clocks to read o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times.

In our English lessons, we have been writing non-chronological reports about the big five.  Miss Hackeson popped into the room on Friday and was amazed by the progress we are making with our writing.  We are all trying really hard to remember our capital letters, full stops and finger spaces and we are also working hard to sit our letters on the line when we write.  Our teachers are very proud of us!

Next Wednesday afternoon we are holding our new style sports day. It will be great to see you there cheering us on in the different activities. All information has been emailed to you.
