Directions and Fractions

We have had a short but very busy week in Zebra Class. Once again, the children impressed us all with their swimming on Tuesday afternoon. Week by week, their confidence in the water is growing and we feel so proud of each and every one of the children.

In English this week, we have started reading a new book called 'The Rabbit Problem'. We have thought about all the things rabbits need to stay healthy and we we wrote instructions to detail how to care for a rabbit, step by step.

In Maths, we have started thinking about fractions and have found 1/2 of shapes and numbers. It was a little tricky finding halves of numbers, but the great thing about Zebra Class is that the children always persevere and never give up.

We started a new Geography unit of work, focusing on our local area. We made maps to show our route to school and which landmarks we pass, we thought about human and physical features around our school and local area and we started to make maps using a key. The children have really enjoyed this topic so far. Next week we will be going for a walk around Westbury on Wednesday to look for more human and physical features in our town.

Enjoy your weekend everybody. Rumour has it that the sun is going to shine for us all!
