Capacity and World Book Day

We have had another busy week in Zebra Class. The children have worked exceptionally hard in Maths this week. We have been thinking about capacity (the maximum amount something can hold) and volume (how much is actually inside). The children have used water and pasta to explore the terms 'full', 'empty', 'half full', 'nearly full' and 'nearly empty'. They have also started to compare and order the capacity of different containers.

In English, we have been writing instructions to explain how we planted our sunflower seeds (which are growing nicely and already starting to shoot!). We have thought carefully about the features of instructions and have ensured that our own instructions have numbers, bossy verbs, a 'you will need' list and are sequenced in the correct order.

In Art, we have been finishing our Henri Rousseau creations and I think you will be very impressed when you see the finished pieces!

Then, of course, we had the fun of World Book Day! The children looked amazing dressed up as a word and their costumes were superb. Thank you for all the effort you put into this!

**Swimming

Next term, we will be taking the children swimming every Tuesday afternoon. If you feel you have availability to come with us to the pool, please could you let Mrs Rockey know as soon as possible. Thank you to all of the adults who have already volunteered to help! We will be asking you at parents evening what swim experience your child has had to date as this is information the pool have asked us to provide.

**Parents Evening

Please remember to sign up for parents evening if you have not done so already. Parents evening will take place on

Tuesday 19th March 3.30-5pm

Wednesday 20th March 3.30- 7pm
