A busy last week for Glow Worms!

This was a very busy week for us in Glow Worm Class.

Firstly, thank you to all the parents and carers who came to the parent celebration event on Thursday. It was very busy and we really appreciate the support! The children really enjoyed following the directions to locate the letters on the trim trail, well done if you found all of them to spell the word 'aerial'.

We completed the learning of our Geography topic. We learned about the four compass points- North, East, South and West and used these to direct each other around the play ground from one location to another. The next day, we made our our simple maps with a key. As you can see from the pictures, the children did a fantastic job!

In maths, we continued our work with halves and quarters by finding quarters of objects and shapes, before finding halves and quarters of amounts. It would be great for the children to continue this work at home by sharing objects into equal groups of 2 and 4.

The children continued their ball control skills in PE by dribbling a ball, they showed great teamwork and encouragement. It was a pleasure to see.

In RE, the children learned about Shabbat which is the Jewish Day of Rest. The children looked at different items and wrote about how they are used.

Finally, we had a great end of the week by learning a new song in music. As a class, we put actions to the song and practised it a few times. Then, we had Beetle Class and Mrs Jeffery in to watch a performance. Both classes really enjoyed this and we'll be looking to share more of our amazing learning to each other! :)

Please also remember to keep reading with your children and help them learn all of their set 2 and set 3 sounds by using the little yellow book everyone took home on Wednesday.  We all want them to pass their phonic screening check and feel successful.  It will be soon after we return back to school.

There will be the Grandparents Event on the 9th June

Enjoy your half term and stay safe in the sun!
