Shapes and Leaflets
We started looking at leaflets in English this week, the children explored different leaflets to identify their features and started to plan and write one to encourage people to visit the SS Great Britain.
In maths, we have started learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have been learning the different names of each and counting the number of edges and vertices, which are where 2 or more sides meet. As a challenge, the children had a go at seeing what they could make with shapes and made 2D shapes with playdough.
We finished our history topic on Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the children have certainly picked up so much learning about the famous engineer and demonstrated this in the last lesson!
In PE, we were looking at our jumping skills and challenged this with the help of a partner.
Please make sure that your child brings their reading book into school each day as we are so fortunate to have volunteers who listen to the children read. The children love reading to Shirley and Rhonda and to have their allocated book is so beneficial. Do continue to check the RWI blog each week too.
