Pandas- Week 2

The panda class have all worked really hard this week.

In maths, the year 1 children have been introduced to teen numbers.  They have used different apparatus to make the numbers and have even had a go at writing them! In year 2, the children have been learning how to subtract when they exchange 10.  They have all worked very hard and I have been very impressed with their learning.

In English, the children have been really enjoying the book 'Where the Poppies now Grow and they have learnt some of the story of by heart.  The children have been looking at acrostic poems this week and had a go at performing a chosen poem in front of the class.  They all did so well.  They have then all written their own acrostic poem using the words Soldier or Poppies. 

This week, we have started our new science topic on Animals.  The children have had to decide whether different animals are born or come from an egg.  

Next week, we are making musical instruments in our Music lesson on Tuesday.  Please can the children bring in small pots such as yogurt pots, small boxes such as tissue boxes so we can make drums and shakers.
