Our amazing Christmas Crackers
We have had another really busy week in Panda Class where the children have worked their socks off! They have had lots of fun learning about 2D and 3 D shapes and as this unit of maths comes to a close we have been so proud of how much the children have learnt about pattern, symmetry and knowing the properties of shapes. They know the point where edges meet are called vertices, the flat parts of 3D Shapes are faces and the line are called edges. See how many shapes you can spot around your home and everyday objects that are cuboids, cylinders, spheres and triangular prisms.
The children have all enjoyed having our kindness elf Snowy popping up around our class room each day and she even enjoyed a special trip out and joined us at our church service! She sat so quietly as the children sang beautifully and read their poems clearly and enthusiastically. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend and also for joining us in walking to the church. We cannot do it with out your help.
In English we have started looking at a new book called Ollie's Christmas reindeer and today Panda Class did some fantastic writing using adjectives to create expanded noun phrases. They also wrote some wonderful, wonderful letters to Santa which our kindness elf helped us to post off to Lapland! However Snowy was so impressed with their writing that she only sent a copy off so that the children could bring their wonderful letters home to share with you! I think you will agree they are AMAZING and Panda Class have been Christmas Crackers all week! Well done everyone.
