Maths and History!

It has been another fantastic week in Giraffe Class. The children are really settled and are doing some absolutely fantastic learning.

In Maths, the children have been consolidating their knowledge of 2-digit numbers. They have been using place value charts to partition the numbers into tens and ones. Then they had to find the value of each number. The children were amazing at thinking about how to find the totals.

In RE we have been looking at the Christmas story and had a go at working in groups to retell the story.

The highlight of the week has come from starting our new topic all about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We discovered he was an engineer from the Victorian times who was very short! We thought about useful and not useful questions we could ask to help us find more information. The children have loved being historians and are really looking forward to the school trip next Thursday.
