Magical Meerkats - Stars of the Stage!
Well what can we say except a huge big WELL DONE to the Marvellous Meerkats, Pandas and Zebras for the most wonderful Sleepy Shepherd performance! I am sure you will agree that the children were absolutely amazing. They sung and signed the songs beautifully, read lines - word perfect and thoroughly enjoyed their moment! Well done – we are so proud of you all. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents for joining us and sending in costumes. Didn’t they all look fabulous! Enjoy the pictures.
Next week we have our Christmas Service at All Saints church on Monday 18th at 2.15pm. All Y1 Parents are invited. The children are very much looking forward to sharing more Christmas joy with you – what a talented bunch they all are. Thank you to those who have volunteered to walk with us to the church, as always, your help and support is very much appreciated.
Back in class, the children have been thinking about how to look after a penguin egg and have all written instructions to help Edward the Emperor penguin successfully look after the egg – lots of bossy verbs were used to help him look after the precious egg!
We have been revisiting some of our previous learning in maths this week. The children have been using their ‘back brain’ to dip into what they had learnt earlier in the term. To help with our addition skills, we used Father Christmas’ toy workshop to choose toys and add up amounts.
In geography we learnt about the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world. The children then created a balloon globe with the seven continents. Next week, Mrs Jeffery will be in class Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning with Mrs Watts taking Meerkat Class Wednesday afternoon. Ms Smith, our amazing TA will be with the class all week.
