Honeybees Friday 13th December

We have had a busy week gearing up for Christmas in Honeybee Class.

The children were surprised to see a wrapped gift on Monday morning waiting for them. They had to guess what the gift could be by its shape and size. They then opened the gift to discover the Christmas story Dear Santa by Rod Campbell. The children enjoyed listening to the story and guessing what was inside each of Santa's gifts by its description, they had some fantastic ideas. Once the children had finished the story they were very eager to open up an elf wrapping station. The children were excited to wrap toys within our classroom for their friends, write their names in labels and pop them under the Christmas tree. In fact they have continued to do so all week.

In addition to this, the children have enjoyed making Christmas themed playdough scented with cinnamon, beautiful collage snowflakes and Christmas trees.

In math's we have been consolidating all our knowledge of accurate counting with a range of games and practical activities.

We have also been very busy practicing for our Christmas play in preparation for next week. The children have enjoyed being on the stage, singing and signing along to the songs and are becoming more and more confident. We cant wait to showcase next week!
