What a fantastic start to Term 3 in Honeybee Class!

This week we have based our learning around the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children have had great fun working together to create scenes from the story using small world toys, building beds and chairs using construction equipment and drawing scenes from the story. They have read three different versions of the story and spotted how they were all slightly different at the end and really liked the version in which Goldilocks helped the bears fix the chair and make more porridge for baby bear.

In math's this week we have been learning all about measure and in particular, mass. The children learned that items that are small can be heavy and items that are larger can be light. They experimented with balancing the scales with a variety of items and found items around the classroom or outdoor area that were heavier or lighter.

In addition to this we have taken advantage of the weather and explored the ice, the patterns that ice can make, creating our own snowflake designs. We also really enjoyed learning about arctic foxes and how they survive in such cold conditions such as the Arctic.
