Honeybee Class Friday 15th November 2024

We kick started the week in Honeybee Class with a new story, Were Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger which follows a similar theme to Were Going on a Bear Hunt. The children enjoyed looking at the different types of leaves and the autumnal colours. They made beautiful leaf pictures using leaves for printing and a range of colours.

In maths this week we have been focusing on counting accurately to 4 and being able to, at a glace, spot how many items there are in a group and call a total. The children have become much more confident at counting to 4 and beyond and have enjoyed counting in a variety of ways. We have also looked at problem solving with some of the children, focusing on ordering and comparing numbers.

In our topic work we learnt about poppies, what they are and why we wear them. The children spoke about the colour of them, if they have seen others wearing them and enjoyed creating poppies with playdough.

We have also began learning our new Rhyme Time songs. The children have tried really hard when learning the new signs and songs and their confidence has grown in the last two weeks considerably.

 Important Information:

Class Trip to Moors Valley - Tuesday 19th November. Please wear normal uniform and comfortable shoes.  We will be outside at times in the day so children will need to bring a waterproof coat and a backpack to put their lunch in.
