Friday 7th February 2025 - Honeybees
We have had a wonderful week in Honeybee Class with our focus being The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have been story tellers, recalling the repeated parts of the story and thought about what else the characters may say. We have built bridges large and small using a range of construction, the children particularly enjoyed creating a large scale bridge and obstacle course in which they were challenged to jump, hop, skip and crawl across before being gobbled up by the hungry troll.
In math's this week we have been learning the concept of doubling. We have learnt that double means two of the same. We started the week learning through the use of mirrors, we used objects and looked at how they doubled when we looked in the mirror. We then went on to focus on doubling numbers to 5 through the use of ladybirds and their spots, we then made our own ladybirds.
In our topic this week we have been discussing what it means to be a kind friend and how we might show kindness to others and in PE the children have been continuing to improve their throwing and aiming skills. They have used a variety of balls and beanbags and have shown improvement in their aiming. Well done Honeybee Class.
Have a lovely weekend all!
