I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down….’
This week, Wallabies have enjoyed reading The 3 little pigs and creating their own characters, settings and adventures during drawing club. In provision they have been busy creating the houses of the 3 little pigs using straw, sticks and bricks, practising their threading skills using pictures of the pigs, re-telling the story using masks, using lollipop sticks and blu-tac to build a house for a pig, using duplo and lego to build houses and so much more! They have been super busy!
For maths this week we have focused on numbers 6-9, how these numbers can be represented, finding 1 more and 1 fewer using tens frames and counters to help them, using ladybirds and spots to find different ways to make numbers e.g. 4 and 2 make 6, 5 and 1 make 6 and so on. They have enjoyed singing songs such as ‘one man went to mow the meadow’ and ‘there were 8 in the bed’ as part of their learning this week.
In music the children explored what an orchestra is and explored a range of percussion instruments. They continued gymnastics in PE with a focus on different types of rolls and put their skills together to complete a Goldilocks and Three Bears circuit!
Well done Wallabies, another incredible week from you all. We are very proud of you.
