Friday 22nd November
What a lovely time we had on our school trip to the SS Great Britain yesterday!
The children were amazed at the size of the ship and loved exploring the different decks. They enjoyed looking around the cabins and were surprised by how small the beds were, even in first class! We ventured into the kitchens to see the different foods that were served to first class passengers and sat at the tables where they would have eaten. We then looked at the food offered to the steerage passengers which consisted of dry biscuits and we all agreed that these were less appealing.
We also had the opportunity to go underneath the ship and see just how big it was and just how large the screw propeller and anchor were. It really was a lovely day!
At school this week, we have been engineers and have designed and made our own inventions. We have also made bridges, train tracks and tunnels like Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Next week:
PE - Thursday and Friday
Flu vaccinations - Wednesday
