Friday 15th September 2023

The children have had a fantastic full time week in school. They have worked hard to get to grips with the routines of the day and are becoming more independent with their morning jobs. 

This week we have introduced the message centre, on Tuesday the children discovered a secret symbol that made people and things disappear. Then on Thursday we found a map and the symbol for searching so the children went on a hunt around the school to find all the symbols. This has excited the children so that they create their own symbols that have different meanings. We have also had fun starting to squiggle whilst we wiggle. The children copy a dance with flip flaps and then draw the dance on paper. Friday was an introduction to Helicopter stories. The children enjoyed acting out a range of stories created by children their age. 

In our maths learning, the children have been learning to subitise (see without counting) the dot patterns on the dice. We also looked at counting reliably, the children were amazing at telling me how to count reliably. 

In our topic, we looked at the 'Colour Monster' story and discussed the different feelings. The children also found out about all the people who help us at school. This week the children had their first PE lesson which they loved. You can see them moving in different directions and stopping at signal in the pictures below. 

Lots of learning happened this week and I definitely think the children deserve a rest this weekend.

Kangaroo Week 2

 Next week - Please can the children come to school in their PE kits on Tuesday. 

We have had a few children with water bottles - These are not required as children have access to water throughout the day. If your child has a packed lunch then water is provided in the lunch hall.
