Lights Camera Action...Kangaroos are superstars!!

We are so proud of the reception children for learning all the songs and for having the confidence to perform to a large audience. I think you'll agree that the wriggly nativity certainly proved to be very entertaining. 

Kangaroos Christmas Show

In addition to the two shows the children performed we have had a lovely week creating our crafts to sell. It was lovely to hear all the children's Christmas wishes as they made their reindeer food and we think you'll agree that they have done an outstanding job of decorating their log slices to hang on the tree. 

We read the story Dear Santa to help the children think and talk about what they would like for Christmas. Following on from the story the children wrote a letter to Santa which our class elf will deliver when they return to the North Pole. 

In our History session this week the children got to compare old and new toys when thinking about Christmas at different periods of time. The children loved learning about the past and they could sort toys into old or new. If you have chance you could share your experiences of Christmas and talk about traditions you have as a family if you celebrate this holiday. 

Maths this week has focused on dice patterns and playing simple track games. The children enjoyed playing race to ten. In one session the numberlings went missing from the Numberblocks and the children had to listen to clues when they were found to say which numberblock it belonged to. 

Kangaroos became artists in one of our sessions as we had a go at drawing a cute penguin by following a step by step video on youtube. Have a look at our superb drawings in the pictures below.

We have three school days left!! We can't believe how fast the term is going. We hope you have a lovely weekend and we look forward to the Christmas Party next week don't forget your Christmas jumper on Tuesday. Then we finish for the Christmas break on Wednesday 20th December at 3.15pm.
