DT and shapes
The kindness elves arrived in class on Monday and we loved sprinkling glitter over her to begin her magic. After completing a vote, Leopard Class named our elf Daisy.
On Tuesday, we had an amazing time at the pantomime and really enjoyed joining in with the singing and dancing and helping Sleeping Beauty.
In English, we continued writing our leaflets about the SS Great Britain. The children did an amazing job of writing about what you can see and do there, encouraging the reader to visit.
During our Maths lessons, we have continued looking at shape. We have been investigating lines of symmetry and the make up of 3D shapes by recognising the 2D shapes that can be found on their faces, and we counted their edges. Having some extra time, we had a go at making 3D shapes using straws and playdough.
This week, we began our new DT topic looking at mechanisms, including levers, sliders and hinges. We have been investigating the best material to make a Christmas card.
We will be performing our nativity ‘It’s a Baby’ next week. ALL COSTUMES TO BE IN SCHOOL ON MONDAY. The children will be performing on Thursday 12th at 9.30 where children are welcome and on Friday 13th at 2.00, adults only followed by the craft fair.
