A cold start to a new term!
Welcome back to Term 3! Leopard Class have made another amazing start back and leapt straight into their learning.
During our English work this week we started looking at the book, The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We have looked at homophones, made predictions based on the front cover, wrote lists of what we would like to have in our lunch boxes and thought about how to describe the main character, Mr Grinling.
In Maths, we have been thinking about related facts, what do we already know that can help us find answers? We used this to help us add tens together, add and subtract 1 and add to made the next ten.
We fully made the most of the weather this week as we looked at 'Winter' in our science lessons. The children went on a winter walk to discuss the signs of winter, what it felt like to be outside and what we might wear. Then, the children learned about animal behaviours in winter, including migrating, hibernating and growing extra fur or feathers to stay warm. The children acted each one out to help them understand what each one meant.
