What a Terrific Term!

Goodness, what an action packed term we have had!  The children have done the most fabulous learning and made so much progress in such a shirt space of time.  I cant quite believe it's only been six weeks since the half term break!

This week has certainly not been an exception, despite us all being a bit tired and ready for our Easter break.

In English lessons, we have continued to focus on the book Oliver's Vegetables, with the children planning and writing their own versions of the story in a comic strip style.  They have created some fabulous work and put in to practice the skills that we have been working on throughout the term.

In Maths, we have been learning about diagrams - block diagrams and pictograms.  We have been creating our own diagrams as well as reading and interpreting ones that have been made already: the children tackled some tricky questions really well.

All this term, we have been developing our gymnastics skills in our indoor PE sessions, and this week the children put all of the skills together to create some lovely sequences which included balances, travelling, rolls and jumps.

Our final swimming session saw that children practice all of the skills and techniques they have been developing this term and what a brilliant session it was.  We are so proud of the children for how far they have come in such a short space of time.  They were really proud to come home with their certificates - I hope they remembered to show them to you!

On Wednesday, we had a Fire Safety workshop and learned that there were 3 key things to remember if we ever discover a fire:

Get out

Stay out

Get help (call 999)

It was wonderful to have so many of you join us on Thursday afternoon for our parent event and listen to stories with the children.

Today, we thoroughly enjoyed ending the term with our Easter Egg hunt!

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy a well deserved rest.  Please do try and listen to your child reading as often as you can over the holidays - maybe pop to the library to get some nice books to share?

We look forward to seeing you all back back on Tuesday 22nd April.
