Super first week back!

Welcome back Wallaby Class! It has been a super first week with lots of wonderful learning to be seen.

In Drawing Club, we have been reading the story Jack and the Beanstalk.  The children had to choose whether they wanted to draw Jack or the Giant and think about a new treasure for the Giant.  Today was adventure day and the children had to think of something the Giant could use to capture Jack.  We have been learning some new vocabulary, clambering, booming, descending, glittering, ginormous, shocking, sinking and chopping.

In maths, the children have been recognising numbers 11,12 and 13, how to show a two digit number on a tens frame and seeing how two digit numbers can be made using numicon.

In music this week, we have started learning a funny song called ‘Big Bear Funk’ we have compared houses looking at similarities and differences in RE and thought about what a plant needs in order to grow.

In the classroom, the children have thoroughly enjoyed the Explorers Role play, building dens and campfires. They have build their own Beanstalks out of construction and painted beanstalks using duplo!

It’s been a wonderful first week back!
