Super Sports Day

It has come to the end of another term! The children are continuing to impress me with how much they are growing and learning.

The highlight of this week has definitely been sports day! Their teamwork, friendship, respect and excellence shone as bright as their smiles as they worked hard to complete the different activities set up. They all had a go at jumping, throwing and running to earn points for their teams, and what an amazing job they did!

Maths was all about non-unit fractions e.g. 2/3 and 3/4. We identified the fractions and then found fractions of numbers and objects. They showed off their learning of finding fractions of amounts on Friday.

In English, we kept our focus on the story 'Windows'. As it is a book with no words, the children thought carefully about could be said with each new window. Then, they planned and wrote part of the story from the cat's point of view.

We finished our Geography unit- 'Where do we live and what is it like in my town?'. The children showed off everything they learned and it was great to see how much they remembered about human and physical features, landmarks, routes and aerial maps.

Hope you have a lovely half term and will rest ready for our long summer term.
