Science and skipping!
Firstly, it was lovely to see how smart the children looked on Monday for their school photos! They turned out amazing, we hope you are as happy with them as we are.
The children have shown a lot of resilience this week. In outdoor PE, we practised our skipping skills. They all did amazing and seeing as they enjoyed the big skipping rope last week, we brought this out again for another go. They are getting very good!
In indoor PE, we continued our team working skills by working together to get a hoop around the circle without unlinking our hands. Then, we had a competition to see which group to do it the quickest. Finally, we had a race to travel across the hall using hoops, moving one at a time. They all worked amazingly!
This week, in maths, we continued exploring numbers up to 20 in maths. The children used maths vocabulary to tell me what they know about different numbers and amounts when comparing, knowing why a number was greater than or less than another. They ordered numbers and used the resources to show prove the smallest and largest amount.
In drawing club, we watched 'Mr Benn'. We saw him become a zoo keeper and help the animals to get bigger cages. The children drew and wrote codes about various animals; capturing them and liberating them in the most interesting ways.
And finally, we finished our science topic of 'Who lives here and why?'. The children showed me everything they learned and have showed how much they enjoyed our first topic!
