Poems!
The weather has certainly been on our side this week, what a scorcher! Please remember to send the children in with sun hats. We are making sure that they all drink plenty in this warm weather and stopping for regular drinks breaks.
We have continued this week looking at a variety of different poems from the book ‘Out and About’ by Shirley Hughes. We have had a go at reading and writing different styles of poems knowing that they didn’t always have to rhyme. To help with this we had a visit from some real life chicks! They were so cute.
In maths we have finished off looking at money, the children have been making totals using a variety of different coins and notes, combining pounds and pence, then we looked at giving change. The children worked brilliantly thinking about using their number bonds to work out what they had left.
We have finished off our seasons work in Science, the children have thought about a specific season and everything associated with it, they then made this into a seasons disc and shared with their friends. Then we were able to write and draw everything we have been learning about. We were absolutely amazing!
PE was another great lesson, looking at our throwing skills, we were looking at how we throw overarm and hitting the target.
Have a lovely long weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, enjoy the extra day off!
