Honeybee Class Friday 3rd October 2025

We’ve had a fantastic week in Honeybee Class, full of fun, learning, and creativity!

Our focus book has been Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson. The children loved listening to the story and showed brilliant attention during our sensory version – exploring animal sounds and feeling different textures. We extended this with exciting listening games, where the children guessed animal sounds and matched them to photos, as well as exploring everyday household sounds. Their listening skills were amazing!

In maths, we’ve continued exploring measure. The children have been using the vocabulary big and small, as well as empty and full. They impressed us by sorting and organising objects by size and thoroughly enjoyed filling and emptying containers.

In art, the children used their knowledge of colour mixing to paint beautiful animal pictures inspired by our storybook. They showed fantastic control and focus – we have some budding artists in Honeybee Class!

Our Attention Bucket sessions have been lively as we continue to learn about letter sounds. This week, we focused on e, l, h, r, and j. The children loved seeing the letters and sounds come to life in big, bold, and sometimes messy ways!

To round off the week, we put on our dancing shoes for the school Discothon. The children had an amazing time showing off their best moves. A big thank you to all who sponsored your children – your support is greatly appreciated.

Well done, Honeybee Class – you are all superstars!
