Honeybees - Friday 28th March

What a lovely week we have had in Honeybee Class!

Our learning this week has focused on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. On Monday we were very excited to see that our caterpillars had grown over the weekend and had almost doubled in size! The children enjoyed watching the caterpillars moving, eating and sleeping. Each day we have read the story, sequenced the story and practiced being hungry caterpillars ourselves growing into pupa and then finally beautiful butterflies.

In math's we have been learning to describe and compare lengths. We have used language such as long, short, longest and shortest to compare a variety of different lengths. We have made long and short caterpillars, sorted different items by their length and ordered lengths.

In addition to this, we have spent a lot of time outside this week being explorers. We have looked at a variety of different minibeasts, looked for them in our environment and made our own minibeast homes from bricks, grass and wooden blocks.

Have a wonderful weekend all!
