Honeybees Class - Friday 9th May 2025
What a wonderful week we have had in Honeybee Class this week.
We started the week by jetting of and exploring Space. The children have really enjoyed learning all about the different planets in our solar system. They have learnt the planets names, that they rotate around the sun and that they are very far away! We have developed our cutting, ripping and sticking skills to create beautiful collage planets and moons, alongside having to look really closely at a planets features to create their own. In addition to this the children have enjoyed a sensory story based around the story Whatever Next by Gill Murphy. They zoomed into space in a cardboard box with space helmets and boots on, felt the rain on their heads, finally touching down on the moon for a picnic before returning home again. Much fun was had by all. In addition to this the children have enjoyed exploring space small world play, moon sand and creating their very own space pictures.
In math's this week we have been learning to count out amounts to 10 and beyond accurately. We have been concentrating on moving objects as we count each one, placing items into containers one at a time to embed the need to count accurately. We have certainly seen an improvement this week. Well done Honeybees!
In addition to this the children have been working hard to improve their techniques for all the fun activities they will take part in for Sports Day.
Have a wonderful weekend all!
Important notice:
Just a gentle reminder to please bring back reading books ready to be changed on a Friday.
We have had a couple of parents mention they are missing named jumpers. We have been unable to find them at school. Please may we ask that you check you have the correct jumper/cardigan for your child. Thank you so much.
Wellies - Some of the children have out grown their wellies. Please could we ask that the children have a pair of wellies in school the correct size, as you know we are out in all weathers and some of the children have had a real growth spurt - thank you :-)
