Honeybee Class Friday 19th September

A Fantastic Week! 🌟🐝

We’ve had a wonderful week in Honeybee Class, filled with learning, creativity and lots of fun!

This week our focus has been on exploring emotions through the story The Colour Monster. The children enjoyed a sensory version of the story and then created their very own sensory bottles, each linked to an emotion of their choice. They also made their own monsters from playdough and designed colourful monsters using a range of materials. We looked carefully at photos and matched them to the colour monsters from the story, discovering together that we all have many different feelings — and that all feelings are okay.

In math's, we continued to practise accurate counting, ordering numbers and representing numbers in different ways. The children worked so hard and impressed us with their perseverance.

In PE, the Honeybees had great fun moving to music, practising running and walking to different songs. They built on last week’s work by stopping and starting with control and energy — they really gave it their best effort!

In phonics, we worked on recapping sounds we already know, while also introducing new sounds through our exciting Attention Bucket sessions. These sessions were fun (and sometimes a little messy!) and the children showed fantastic listening and concentration.

This week in Topic, we focused on colours. The children explored what happens when we mix the primary colours and discovered the new colours we could make using red, yellow and blue. We experimented in lots of fun ways, including painting, squirty colour bottles and coloured foam. The children were fantastic at naming lots of colours and showed great curiosity in their learning – well done!

It has been a brilliant week of learning, exploring, and growing together. Well done, Honeybees — we are so proud of you! 🌈✨
