Happy Easter
What an amazing week to end another superb term in Wallaby class! The children continue to blow us away with their incredible behaviour, kindness and the wonderful friendships they have formed. We can’t believe we will be heading into term 5 already.
The children absolutely loved watching ‘Wacky Races’ in drawing club this week and using this as a stimulus to create their own mascots, vehicles and baddies to replace Dastardly and Mutley. Their ideas were great and their confidence is continuing to grow with their writing and spelling.
The Wallabies made us very proud during the Church service this week where they sang and did actions to their songs beautifully. They were exceptional at walking to the church and back too. Children have been busy decorating their own Easter eggs which were hidden around the trim trail ready for them to find during the Easter egg hunt. They even met the Easter bunny and came back to class to a surprise….
They have been learning about repeating patterns in maths and some children used their knowledge and made patterns within their designs. They also enjoyed making Easter cards, so keep an eye out for these in their bags 😊
The class caterpillars are now in their cocoon’s which has been fascinating to watch. It won’t be long now until they turn into beautiful butterflies. We have enjoyed reading The Hungry Caterpillar and creating our own caterpillar paper chains as well as creating curly caterpillar repeating patterns in maths. We have learnt about the life cycles of different animals, thinking about the key features and changes. This really helped us understand the different stages a caterpillar goes through from when it hatches as an egg to turning into butterfly.
We hope you all have the most wonderful, well deserved Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday 22nd April.
