Friday 9th May
It has been another busy week in Bumblebees!
In our Drawing club this week we have been reading the traditional tale 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. The children have acted out the story, decorated their own trolls and made their own bridges using Duplo, cups, lolly sticks and pegs. Our star words for the week have been 'luscious, resilient, fearless, determined, creaky, suddenly, bamboozle and gruesome.
In our maths, we have been learning about fractions. We have looked at parts of a whole, identified whether groups are equal or unequal and have recognised and found half of an object or shape. We will move on to looking at quarters next week.
In our topic work, we have been looking at maps and drawing our route from home to school; noting some of the landmarks that we pass on the way. We have also been looking at human and physical features of our school grounds and taking photos of these. Next Wednesday, we will be going on a walk around Westbury to see if we can spot a wider number of human/physical features in our local environment.
Next week:
Wednesday 14th May - Westbury walk
Thursday 15th May - Class photos
PE - Thursday and Friday.
