Friday 7th March 2025 - Honeybee Class
We have had a wonderful week in Honeybee Class made even sunnier now Spring is on the way!
In English this week we have enjoyed the story Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell. The children were brilliant at naming animals, remembering repeated phrases and remembering what happens next in the story. The children made their own farm scenes, matched animal sounds with pictures and made their own animals using playdough.
In maths we have been continuing to embed our understanding of numbers to 10. We have practiced putting numbers in order and making them in a variety of ways. Next week we will be using our knowledge of number to help us name how many of an object there is set without having to count each item out one at a time, we call this subitising.
In our topic sessions we have looked closely at farms, what animals we may find on a farm, what animals eat and drink and that there are different types of farms. The children enjoyed looking a pictures and discussing what they know about farms and if they have visited farms themselves. In addition to this the children had a brilliant PE session, climbing up high and down low through a range of equipment.
On Thursday we enjoyed World Book Day! The children looked wonderful in their costumes. We enjoyed reading together, talking about our favourite books and making our own books to enjoy with others.
Well done Honeybee Class, have a brilliant weekend. Fingers crossed for more sunshine!
