Friday 4th April

What a busy week we have had in the run up to our Easter holiday!

In drawing club this week we have been reading the story 'Alien's Love Underpants'.  We have designed our own scanning machines to check for aliens who might be lurking in our underpants and have thought about how we can help the aliens get back to their own planet when their spaceship has broken down.  Our star words for the week have been: spectacular, delighted, competitive, flashing, frilly, lurking, stretchy and zooming.

In maths, we have been doing some statistics work.  We have used tally charts to gather information, drawn block graphs and pictograms and have used these to help us answer questions about the data collected.

On Tuesday afternoon, we had our Easter Church Service at All Saints church. The children listened really well to the service and joined in beautifully; singing Easter songs and sharing a collaborative poem.

On Wednesday, we had a fire safety talk.  The children loved looking at the different clothing that fire fighters wear and finding out about how to stay safe in a fire.   We talked about the importance of having a fire evacuation plan and regularly checking that our fire alarms at home are still working.

In PE this week, we have been practising our throwing and catching skills.  We have also been playing an Easter game where we had to rescue the eggs.

Next Week:

Tuesday 22nd April - Term 5 starts.
