Friday 2nd May
What a lovely sunny week it’s been! The children have absolutely loved it, with lots of fun water play and den building outside. Our story this week has been ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ by Michael Rosen which the children recite really well! They have enjoyed retelling the story with actions as well as with their friends in the small world area. Drawing club saw some amazing caves and innovative ideas on how the family would get across a flooded river! These included a portal, an alligator’s mouth, turning into butterflies and floating on a pig’s back. They had such fun coming up with their ideas and some amazing writing came with it. Well done Wallabies!
After planting our cress seeds last week and watering them well this week, we have lots of lovely cress growing. The children made and enjoyed eating cress sandwiches following instructions on how to make one. We continued our topic on explorer’s and thought about where we might want to explore if we could choose anywhere and what we would need to pack.
In maths we have continued exploring representing teen numbers with a range of manipulatives as well as counting beyond 20 orally and counting objects beyond 20 reliably.
Don’t forget our next school trip to Wookey Hole is on Tuesday 6th. Please ensure children wear their own, comfy clothes and trainers. Bring a backpack (packed lunches are provided unless they bring their own) a sunhat and have sun cream applied if it is due to be sunny. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday.
