Friday 2nd May
It has been a lovely week in Bumblebee class. The sun has been shining and it has been great to get outside and enjoy the lovely weather.
In Drawing club this week, we have been reading the story 'The Highway Rat'. Our star words for the week have been meek, feast, bounding, wandered, bellowed, echo, snarled and terrifying. The children have loved planning and drawing different ways to capture the Highway Rat and some have also included exclamation sentences in their written codes.
In maths, we have continued to learn about money. We have looked at the different values of all the coins and notes and have counted groups of coins to find the totals. We have also compared the different values and used the < > and = symbols to identify which has the greatest or least value.
In science, we have been looking at the features of Spring and Summer. We have compared the weather in these two seasons to Autumn and Winter and have discussed how the seasons impact what we do and wear and how they impact the animals and plants around us.
In computing, we are learning about grouping data. We started by looking at sorting objects in different ways and labelling the groups we have made. We worked together to sort a number of everyday objects from the classroom and then decided how we could best describe the group. We all worked really well together - our teachers were very proud of us!
Next week:
