Welcome back after the Easter holidays.  We hope you all had a good break and feel rested.

This week in Drawing club, we have been reading the story 'The Magic Porridge Pot'.  Our star words for the week were enchanted, conversation, despair, endless, gloopy, cease, covered and steaming.  The children enjoyed making and tasting their own porridge and making sculptures with our porridge playdough.

In maths, we have been learning about money.  We have used real coins to pay for items in a our class shop and have looked at the values of the different coins.  We have also started to count how much money we have by firstly counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and then by counting money of different values.

In our topic work we are looking at Spring.  We have been on a spring walk around the school and have drawn our favourite signs of Spring.  We then looked at the number of daylight hours and how these change from Winter to Spring.
