Friday 19th September
This week, we started by talking about feelings. We used playdough to create faces showing different emotions. It was a great way to explore how we all experience many feelings—and sometimes even more than one at the same time!
In Drawing Club, we’ve been reading the story The Gruffalo. We enjoyed making animal headbands, using collage techniques to create our own Gruffalo pictures, and practicing our cutting skills by cutting out curly snakes.
Our star words this week were:
⭐ predator
⭐ habitat
⭐ nocturnal
⭐ cunning
⭐ terrified
⭐ stroll
In Maths, we focused on finding one more and one less than given numbers. We used songs, counters, cubes, and number tracks to help us with this. We also practiced counting forwards and backwards.
In PE, we had lots of fun thinking about how exercise helps us feel good. We agreed that when we’re feeling sad, frustrated, or angry, exercise is a great way to help us feel happy again.
For Topic, we explored where our school is located. We used maps and aerial photos to find our school and practiced our mapping skills by creating a map of our classroom.
We’re looking forward to another great week ahead. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
