Friday 19th
Another wonderful, jam packed week in Wallaby class! We have enjoyed another week of Squiggle whilst you wiggle, making large movements in the air and transferring these movements to paper in time to some music. In phonics we have moved onto learning the sounds m a s d t. Learning a sound per day and even having a go at forming each letter. During this time, the children have also taken part in ‘Fred games’ and a range of different fine motor activities, all geared towards helping them read and write.
In maths we have been matching and sorting objects. We enjoyed listening to stories ‘Seaweed soup’ and ‘The button box’ to help us with our learning. We have enjoyed listening to a new poem on poetry basket this week linked to our feelings. The children’s confidence is growing and it has been lovely to see more of them join in. We have also listened to the story ‘The way I feel’ and discussed all the different feelings from the story. We enjoyed making different faces to show the range of emotions. We have really enjoyed getting to know the children a little more this week and what makes each of us special.
The class enjoyed a pirate themed PE lesson this week, developing moving safely and stopping with control. We played a games called catch the captain, all aboard the pirate ship and jumping the treasure.
Well done on another great week at school. You are all doing brilliantly and we are so proud of you.
