Exploring Materials!

Welcome back! It is hard to believe this is the last term before the summer. The year has flown by!

This year we have started reading a new book linked to our topic called ’The Fire Cat’. It is all about a little boy who keeps a diary through the Great Fire of London. We have been looking at the features of a diary as well as recounting the events.

During our topic work we have been introduced to the ‘play project’ to help us with our learning. We have been in charge of how we carry out our activities through drawing, creating, writing and constructing. The children have been looking at different materials and if they are suitable for their purpose. We have had plastic slippers, playdough glasses and paper chairs! Then we have looked at how to make out materials stronger for the Three little Pigs. We had a very fierce wolf in the form of a hairdryer trying to blow down our houses! Some people decided that they didn’t need a house and should live on a boat instead!

I think our faces say it all with the most fantastic learning we have been doing!
