Bug hunting Leopards
This week started with us thinking about feelings and how each of us show them in different ways. The children showed this by standing back to back and acting our each emotion.
In Drawing Club, we have shared the wonderful family favourite story of The Gruffalo. The children all had an amazing try at drawing the Gruffalo and where he lives, before describing them both using adjectives. Also, they wondered what the Gruffalo would dream about. Each of the children's ideas were all different and it was great of how creative they all were.
We have continued exploring the value of numbers in maths. Using number lines, we have ordered numbers, identified one more and one less and recognised missing numbers. They were so focused on Friday, creating their own numberlines using whiteboards, number cards and objects.
In science, we have looked at different habitats and thought about the animals who live there. The children had some great ideas for why some animals need long necks and others waterproof feathers; did you know that camels have long eyelashes to keep the sand out of their eyes! We also took our learning outside of the classroom when we went on a hunt for mini beasts in their natural habitat; micro habitats. We were surprised to find so many just outside of our classroom. Today we looked a t food chains and the children identified who ate what and in what order.
In PE, the children all had a go at jumping rope, something many of them hadn't tried before. It was fantastic to hear them cheering each other on!
Well done Leopard Class!
