Blast off!
5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!! What super galactic week it’s been! Children in Wallabies loved watching ‘button moon’ as their stimulus this week in drawing club and had great fun inventing their own space crafts to travel to the moon, coming up with ideas of where they would travel to in space and who they might meet there! They have been super busy in the classroom with all space themed activities including building rockets and other space shuttles in the construction area, creating moon pictures using tinfoil to print, dressing up as astronauts, and making their own constellations . The fun didn’t stop there! They travelled to the International Space Station for our next ‘Faraway Friday’ in our class rocket! We learnt about gravity, what astronauts eat, how they sleep and go to the toilet in space and even made our very own astronaut pudding. We also thought about what astronauts might pack for their journey!
In maths we have been learning about 2D shapes, in particular rotating shapes to make them fit and manipulating shapes to make different pictures. We made rockets using 2D shapes! In RE we learnt about mosques and thought about other special places and rules. In PE we have been getting ready for sports day next week. We can’t wait.
Another fabulous week Wallabies!
