Artistic Leopards!

We have now finished our art topic- looking at the artist Georgia O'Keeffe. Using their knowledge of colour mixing the children painted their close-up flower sketches this week. Then, the children did their final write up of everything they learned about the artist and finally, we used our skills to sketch flowers from images.

In English we looked at different types of letters; formal and informal. We identified the features of both noticing similarities and differences. Then, the children worked in groups to persuade me to agree with them about different causes, e.g. every Friday should be a dress-up day, we should have extra breaktime and we should have a bring your pet to work day.

In Maths, we have been learning about measurement and have been using both cm rulers and meter sticks.  The children measured the length of smaller items first with cubes and then with rulers. They then thought about which measurement they would use for different items around the classroom, large and small, before practically giving it a go.

In our computing lesson, the children gave instructions to move the Bee-Bot forwards and backwards. They completed different challenges to see which shape the robot would land on.

Thank you everyone for signing up for Parents Evening appointments, I look forward to seeing you all next week.

On Tuesday 1st April, we will be walking to All Saint’s Church for our Easter service.  If you are able to help by walking to and from the church with us please let me know.  We will be leaving at 1.25pm and be back by 3.05pm.
