Another super duper week in Wallaby class
Another wonderful week in Wallaby class. This week we celebrated Remembrance Day by learning about what it means and why we celebrate it. We looked at poppies and some of the children enjoyed making their own poppy pictures using a range of different media of their choosing. The week ended with Children In Need which was super fun coming to school in pyjamas. We enjoyed Pudsey bear themed activities, learning about why we celebrate this day and what it means as well as making Pudsey Bear biscuits.
In maths we have been learning about circles and triangles which has included recognising them, comparing them and identifying them in our environment. We also learnt about positional language and hid little counting bears in different locations to describe to our friends. We used language such as in between, behind, on top, in and next to. In PE we enjoyed becoming different safari animals! We had to listen to instructions and navigate around the space carefully, whilst mimicking different animals including giraffes, lions and elephants. We enjoyed playing a game of monkey tag too!
This week in phonics we have gone into new groups with different teachers which has been great. The children have adapted to the change brilliantly. In class we have continued working on lots of fine motor activities including pen disco and disco dough. It was such fun!
